Dear ones,
Across the world, as rivers exceed their banks in a ferocious remembering, as glaciers melt and lakes fed by them burst, and oceans heat in unprecedented ways, we know that the ground once believed to be solid is no more. The banks of our knowing are constantly moving. The seasons have shifted in ways we are only still discovering. Rhythms once familiar are stranger now as is our understanding of what it means to be human amidst this flux.
At Dancing With Mountains, we have been exploring this flux through learning, ritual, gathering and making sanctuary. We have failed yet again to communicate more consistently, but we are slowly catching up with ourselves – and it is our pleasure to revive this newsletter as a means to more consistently sharing with you. Please see this offering as an invitation to continue dancing and learning with us.
Our work so far has taken various forms and taken us to different geographies, communities and spaces.
In August, we began Cracks in Therapolis, a 15-month journey with Academy for Therapy Wisdom. To “be well” has become both the promise and demand of our times. Healing, recovery, regulation and optimisation have been made into imperatives. But what if our constant pursuit of wellness keeps us invested in the very systems that make us unwell?
Across two seasons, participants from different parts of the world and fields of work are exploring this question together — opening cracks in the architectures of therapy, wellness and what it means to live well.
In Northern Ireland, Bayo and Devanshi joined The Porch / Ireland Retreats, hosted by Gareth Higgins and Brian Ammons, for a week-long retreat, followed by Story Glen, a storytelling gathering in Belfast. These were spaces for encountering one another through story, listening and the kinds of questions that emerge when we gather outside the usual structures of work, learning and activism.
We have also been convening around what is much older than any of us: the Mbari.
When the earth shook in Owerri, when crops failed and rivers ran foul, Igbo communities in southeastern Nigeria built beautiful houses filled with gods, statues and everyday objects. But the mbari was never meant to last. It was given to rain, wind, termites and time. It was designed to decay.
In this spirit, we are composing a physical mbari across distance: inviting artists from around the world into a five-month craft practice that will become a distributed shrine, a scattered offering, a shared porosity. We are attending to ancestry and lineage, mythology and ecology, composting and decay.
What we make will eventually return to the earth.
We will not turn away from the falling. The falling is the practice.
Then there are some offerings that are still cooking.
The one we are most excited about is the Wave.
The next chapter of the Dancing With Mountains course is imagined as a planet-roaming pilgrimage, moving across seven regions in late 2027. Working with local partners, The Wave will carry and share pedagogy and practice of Making Sanctuary across new soils and communities, in person and online, through ritual, gathering and shared inquiry.
Right now, The Wave is still in its early tides: imagining, designing, dreaming, building partnerships and listening for where it wants to move. We are holding the questions rather than rushing towards resolution. More details on dates, places and how to participate will come as they settle.
Echoes of the Cave is another such experiment we intend to initiate soon: an active, living research container for coming together, sharing and co-creating practices of posthumanism, post-activism and parapolitics. You will hear more about this soon!
Here are some upcoming offerings from us and our constellation:
November 9th – December 4th, 2026 – The Playgrounds: Jestering Towards the Promiscuous Possible
We also want to share with you our exuberant enthusiasm for an upcoming event hosted by our sister organisation, ten (The Emergence Network): the Playgrounds: Jestering Towards the Promiscuous Possible.
The Playgrounds is an invitation to gather and co-create in playful inquiry – to explore play as a vital companion for navigating serious times, as a practice of mourning in motion. This monthlong event, taking place from November 9th – December 4th, 2026, will happen mostly online, with some self-organized, in-person gatherings.
Registration is now open. Tickets are offered in the spirit of the gift on a sliding scale, and no one will be turned away due to lack of funds. To learn more and register, visit: The Playgrounds – Registration.

As you share in our journey this way, here is a practice for you to do in your own time:
The next time you feel a drop of sweat gather on your body, notice how it is born. You do not need to be able to see it. Notice what it evokes in you. What path does it take? Notice any feelings or urges that might occur in response to it. As it trickles, what does it meet on the way? More skin, hair, a scar, or your t-shirt that might have been manufactured in a faraway land? Notice how the water-body we inhabit makes water. Notice how your activity, posture, surroundings, geography are all part of this droplet of sweat. Notice how this drop of sweat leaves your skin. Does it fall away, evaporate, shapeshift? Where does it go? Does it ever go away?
Thanks for moving with us through these cracks. Please drop your email id below so we can stay in touch with you, more than before, sharing snippets of our ongoing explorations.
Warmly,
DWM Team
